Cedros Residence - Solana Beach, CA
Some shoots just flow. This was one of them.
Photographed for a luxury listing in Solana Beach, this home felt like a true passion project. You could see the years of vision and intention poured into every detail the moment you walked through the door. Nothing felt accidental.
The goal was simple: document the home from morning light through twilight and into the night while capturing a different mood at every stage of the day. The architecture leaned into everything that makes Southern California living feel timeless. Warm contemporary design, open spaces, soaring ceilings, rich wood tones, and that seamless indoor-outdoor connection that coastal homes in Solana Beach do so well.
Every detail felt intentional without trying too hard. Woven pendant lights, slatted wood wall panels, soft natural textures, and a waterfall-edge pool that completely transformed once the evening light kicked in. The house had a calm confidence to it that made photographing it feel effortless.
What made this project especially memorable was bringing Mary in to help activate the spaces. Adding a human presence changes architectural photography completely. The images stop feeling like documentation and start feeling lived in. Suddenly you are not just looking at a beautiful room, you are imagining yourself inside it. Some of those frames ended up becoming my favorite images from the entire shoot.
Perfect weather, great clients, an incredible home. Sometimes everything just lines up.
