La Valle Coastal Club - Rancho Santa Fe

La Valle Coastal Club sits between the hills of Rancho Santa Fe and the coastline of Del Mar, and the newly renovated Verde wellness facility feels exactly like that. Elevated without being pretentious. Performance driven but genuinely beautiful.

The renovation touched everything. The Pilates studio, the sauna and recovery suites, hot and cold plunge pools, light therapy rooms, and private massage spaces. Each area had its own character and its own lighting challenge. That's the kind of shoot I live for.

We arrived early and the space rewarded us for it. Morning sun pushed through the glass doors and lit the facility in a way that felt almost deliberate. Warm, directional, and exactly right for a space designed around restoration and recovery. I added flash selectively for color and fill but the sun was doing most of the heavy lifting and I wasn't about to argue with it.

The other element that made this shoot was the people. A handful of members and staff jumped in to activate the scenes and it completely changed the energy of the images. A space like this is designed to be lived in and used and the photography should reflect that. When everyone in front of your lens happens to be genuinely good looking, it doesn't hurt either.

The result is a body of work that feels as considered as the space itself. Precise where it needs to be, alive where it counts.
